Here are a few ideas for ceremony spaces around the North West:
- The Back Garden: There is nothing more “at home” than your own turf (or your family’s!). Have a relaxed celebration that goes completely by your own timetable and at your own pace.
- The Coastal Escape: The Fylde Coast gives you those massive wide-open skies, dramatic light, and a natural backdrop that does all the heavy lifting for your photos. You ring me to say “Caroline, tonight’s the night,” and we spontaneously head down to the beach to catch the sunset and have the ceremony on the sand.
- The Hidden Woodland or Field: Lancashire is bursting with beautiful, private pockets of land and hidden glades. Maybe there’s one in particular that means a lot to you – why not have your ceremony there?
- The South Lakes Magic: If roaming the fells takes you to your happy place, how about a ceremony there? We lace up our hiking boots, maybe pack the poles, head up to the spot that you both love, and say the words you want to say with the mountains as your witness.
- Your Favourite Local Hangout: Maybe your story started over a pint at a local independent brewery, or a coffee in a quirky creative studio. If a non-traditional, indoor space feels like home to you, we can honour it and have your ceremony there.
My Top Tip for finding “The Place”
When you tour a venue, go and stand exactly where you’ll be standing to say your vows. Don’t think about the logistics or the photos for a second, just notice how you feel.
If you find yourself dropping your shoulders, letting out a deep exhale, getting those joyful butterflies or smiling like a Cheshire cat, you’ve found your spot!
The Celebrant Advantage: If you choose a non-traditional venue, an outdoor space, or your own back garden, you aren’t bound by local council registrar restrictions. You can do the legal paperwork quickly at the town hall beforehand, leaving your actual wedding day completely free to happen wherever, whenever, and however you want.
