Whether you’re welcoming a new arrival, celebrating an adoption, or marking a significant new chapter in your own adult life, a Naming Ceremony is a beautiful way to honour this.
These ceremonies are all about that "at home" feeling. It should feel relaxed, joyful, and completely true to your family.
Maybe that’s a breezy summer afternoon in your parents’ back garden surrounded by the flowers your beloved nanna planted, or a gathering at a local spot that means the world to you. If it’s a place where you can be yourself and relax, let’s do it.
We can keep it simple and sweet, we can weave in symbolic acts to mark the occasion too. There are rituals such as tree planting, a time capsule, making a wishing tree, sand blending, or it could be a ritual that’s wholly yours and completely personal to you.
My goal is to make sure the stars of the day are celebrated and feel completely comfortable. Nothing stiff or overly formal! Just a warm, joyful announcement to your community, celebrating a person who is really loved.

Namings are a wonderful canvas for creating meaningful, visual moments. If you want to include a symbolic act, I can help weave these into the ceremony so they feel natural, not performative. We could include:
- Planting a Tree: Weaving in new life and roots.
- A Time Capsule: Asking guests to contribute letters, photos, or tokens for your child to open on their 18th birthday.
- A Wishing Tree: Where family and friends tie their heartfelt promises and hopes for the future to the branches.
- Sand Blending: A lovely ritual and keepsake symbolising the blending of family.

I’m based in Staining, near Blackpool, so I’m ideally placed for ceremonies across Lancashire, the South Lakes, and over the Yorkshire border.
